"If at first you don't succeed try something easier" this is sarcasm because just because something is easy you shouldn't stop and try something easier. Another example is when drew Carey said " Oh, you hate your job? Why didn't you say so there's a support group for that it's called everybody, and they meet at the bar."

Exaggeration

That homework took me forever. This is exaggeation because if i took forever then you couldnt do anything but homework and eventually you would die. Another example is I haven't seen him in forever. This is exaggeration because if you haven't seen him in forever then you woudln't know who he was.
